Once the children are ready they move into our Pre-school Room. Here, the children are able to further develop as they are constantly encountering new experiences and seeking to understand them in order to build on what they know, extend their skills and develop their confidence. The Pre School children are encouraged to achieve this by having a variety of acivities which are both child and adult led.  Well trained and experienced Practitioners are able to use child led play opportunities to develop children's skills at an appropriate level.  They observe individuals and groups before deciding on the next opportunities to be provided.  Some examples of the opportunities available are:-

• Mark making (Writing and drawing)
• Numeracy and problem solving;
• Exploration and investigation;
• Role play;
• Small world play
• Construction play
• Messy activities
• Craft Activities
• Physical activities
• Quiet times
• Singing and dancing;
• Story telling and listening;

The starting point for all of our activities is the children's interests and current level of development.

The large and airy Pre-school room caters for children aged up to the age of 5 years of age, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum so that your child is prepared for ‘big school’.
The room has its own toileting area which is age appropriate and help build children’s confidence in toileting and practising good hygiene routines.

The children have free flow access to the outside areas at set times throughout the day. Drinking water is readily available for all children and “Café style” snacks lets children access a healthy snack when they require it.
